Elevate Your Brunch: Discover The Liberty Tavern’s Tapas-Style Experience

If you’re looking for a brunch in Arlington that feels a little more elevated, a little more shareable, and a lot more delicious, The Liberty Tavern is a must. Their small-plate brunch format transforms a typical weekend meal into a curated, communal dining experience. It is perfect for couples, friend groups, or families who want to try a little of everything.

A Tapas-Style Brunch That Delivers

Unlike your typical eggs-and-toast brunch, Liberty Tavern in Clarendon offers small plates and larger shareable entrees, more reminiscent of tapas than traditional breakfast. The format encourages ordering multiple dishes and trying a wide range of flavors, and it works well.

The menu is divided between brunch tapas (single-portion plates) and larger dishes designed to serve four or more. You can build your own tasting experience, repeat your favorites, and still feel like you’re discovering something new by the end of the meal.

The Liberty Tavern also offers A La Carte Brunch for parties less than 8.

Our Favorite Dishes at Liberty Tavern Brunch

We tried quite a few plates between the two of us, and here’s what stood out.

Steak Bites (Order Multiple)

These are single bite plates, but incredibly flavorful. Perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, they were so good we ordered more the second our waiter got back. If you’re coming hungry or with company, consider ordering a few rounds from the start.

Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese

This comforting combo hit all the nostalgic notes with a grown-up twist. The soup was rich and flavorful, and the grilled cheese had the perfect crunch and gooey center. It’s a strong contender for best overall dish.

Quiche

Soft, savory, and cooked just right. The quiche was light enough not to overwhelm, but packed with flavor in each bite. A solid choice for both egg lovers and those who typically skip over it.

Grits

Surprisingly excellent. I’m a fan of grits, but my husband usually isn’t. These were so good, even he liked them. Creamy, well-seasoned, and just the right texture. A great example of a simple dish done exceptionally well.

French Toast

Of all the sweet options, the French toast was the standout. Not overly soggy or overly sweet, just a well-balanced plate that felt intentional and well-executed. Some of the other sweet dishes leaned a bit too sugary for my taste, but this one stood out.

Alcoholic Drinks

Everyone wants to know about the drinks when it comes to a bottomless brunch. Here at The Liberty Tavern they are an excellent deal, 15$ for unlimited 25 cent drinks. There is a wide range of drinks that are included in the quarter deal. Some of the options are classic mimosas, spiked strawberry lemonade, and miller lite for the beer drinkers.

Ideal for Groups and Foodies

Liberty Tavern’s brunch is a great pick if you:

  • Enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to one
  • Are dining with a group and want to share everything
  • Appreciate high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation

The larger plates, meant for four or more people, round out the experience nicely if you’re coming with a bigger party. Think family-style entrees that make the table feel abundant and festive.

Ordering Tips for Liberty Tavern Brunch

Want to get the most out of your brunch?

  • Order in waves. Start with three to four small plates, then build from there.
  • Double up on any dish you’re excited about, especially the steak.
  • Mix savory and sweet, but lean savory unless you know you love the sweet options.
