Why I Flew a Bright Pink JetBlue Plane (You Might Want To, Too)
If you’ve spotted a bright pink and orange JetBlue plane lately and thought, “What is that thing?”, here’s your answer. JetBlue and Dunkin’ have teamed up for a summer promo that’s weird, limited, and surprisingly worth chasing.
Between May 19 and September 1, 2025, JetBlue is running a promo that rewards travelers who fly on their pink-and-orange Dunkin’-themed plane, “Brewing Altitude.” Catch a Monday flight on that jet, and you’ll score three months of Mosaic 1 elite status and Dunkin’ Boosted status. Sounds great, right? There’s just one catch: eligible flights are only announced on Fridays for the following Monday, so planning ahead is a no go.
How did I end up on the Brewing Altitude? Not luck or a coincidence but a last minute flight booked on Saturday, flying from Orlando (where I do not live) to LaGuardia (where I also do not live). I booked the flight solely for the purpose of catching the 3 months of Mosaic before attempting a run for the Jetblue 25 for 25 promotion, more on that later.
How it works:
It’s surprisingly simple: hop on a qualifying Monday route aboard Brewing Altitude, and JetBlue will grant you three months of Mosaic 1 status, plus Dunkin’ Boosted status. Already have Mosaic? You’ll get 20 bonus tiles. Already Boosted? You’ll earn double Dunkin’ points.
Really the main thing to take note of is that you must have a linked trueblue number to be gifted mosaic. My husband and I both flew up to NYC and in order for us both to recieve mosaic status, we both had to have our TrueBlue numbers attributed to the flight. Normally we don’t worry about putting in a TrueBlue number for my husband, and I just collect any points or tiles from booking us under my account.
Some things to note:
- Revenue ticket required
- Must be enrolled in both TrueBlue and Dunkin’ Rewards
- Opt-in to JetBlue marketing emails
After speaking to Jetblue staff it seems like points booked flights WILL count as revenue tickets, although the internet is divided on the wording in the terms and conditions. We booked our tickets with cash, but if there is a good points value available for one of these flights, the incentives are there to go on a last minute trip. The Mosaic status was applied automatically to our accounts, Jetblue does note that it can take up to two weeks for this benefit to be processed, but our status was live within 24 hours.
What’s the real benefit?
I am not a coffee girly, so I probably will not be taking advantage of the Dunkin Boosted Status. The draw for me lies with the Mosaic Perks as we prepare for a number of upcoming flights with Jetblue. Mosaic 1 perks include free checked bags, priority boarding, a free drink allowance on every flight, EvenMore seating at check-in, and day of travel changes without fees.
Just one flight grants Mosaic status, which is ideal for mileage runners. And even if you are not a mileage runner, if you have holiday travel or a vacation planned with Jetblue, having Mosaic is a major plus. In my case, being able to book CorePlus and Exit Rows without an upcharge is a major draw, because it makes traveling more comfortable for my unreasonably tall husband.
Math Time:
The minimum spend to earn Mosaic 1 is normally $5,000. Specifically that is five thousand dollars in travel spending with Jetblue, which earns 1 Tile per $100 and hits the 50 tiles needed to earn Mosaic 1. With this promo you get a quarter of the year as Mosaic, that is a value of $1250. We paid $250 each for our flights, which seems worth it… in a girl math sort of way.
Is it ridiculous to book a random flight for 3 months of elite status? Sure. Do I regret it? Not even a little. But if you’ve got a flexible schedule and a soft spot for chaotic travel plans, this might be your favorite Monday of the summer.
